We have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 2: 16b
On September 24, 2020, SRL celebrated the 21st annual banquet with good personal attendance and a virtual participation of over a thousand friends. The testimonies of the students from every corner of Latin America and the large number of Reformed churches that this mission has rendered was a beautiful experience for us all. Literally, we were surprised by how God is using SRL to bring the true Gospel to the Hispanic Continent. Dr. Steven Lawson delivered a lecture on what the Reformation is all about, its history, and how SRL is fulfilling its objective of flooding Latin America with well-trained Reformed ministers of the Gospel. Please see these links: bit.ly/srlkeynote2020 and bit.ly/srlstudents.
We are grateful to many theologians, pastors, and professors who, virtually, continued to teach the scheduled courses and the twice a month theological lectures reaching over one hundred thousand participants. During the pandemic, SRL opened three more sites in Chile, Honduras, and El Salvador.
Including the online students, SRL is training over 900 Reformed ministers of the gospel per year. God willing, beginning January 2021, a new SRL campus will open in Mexico City where 25,000,000 people live and are in great need of the gospel.
God also has provided SRL with a new Executive Administrator, Dr. Del Belcher. Dr. Belcher has already communicated with all site coordinators and with most of the professors. While he is effectively coordinating the academic program, he is also making plans to help with an orderly 3 to 4-year administrative transition plan and the development of resources as SRL continues to expand. We have been blessed with a capable and highly effective administrative assistant in the person of Ms. Rebecca Cook. Ms. Cook has taken great initiatives to make sure that the student accounting is kept up to date in every site. All aspects of the administration, both at the mission field and in the USA, are being efficiently and effectively managed by her. We are grateful for all SRL volunteers who, together with a tremendously active Board of Trustees, continue to serve God as they labor daily with this mission.
Please partner with SRL as we continue to bring the Reformation to Latin America, five hundred years after it was powerfully set in motion in Europe. The best way you can help is by providing a monthly contribution. We are thankful to God for you.
Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Noé S. Acosta, SRL Chancellor
