Newsletter – February 2020

IT PLEASED GOD TO SEND THESE SEMINARIANS TO MEDELLIN THIS YEAR.

President Dr. Julio Benítez and members of his staff in Medellín welcome students who arrived from different countries and will live in the Seminary until they finish 22 courses, plus functional Greek and Hebrew. More students will arrive soon, as they are still traveling to Colombia. We thank God for your contributions which allow SRL to provide scholarships. The expenses— for new beds, renovation of bathrooms, dormitories, washing machines, equipment, and a new cook—have become higher than originally anticipated, but we are trusting God to provide the necessary funds. Besides the 50 students who reside in the SRL building, visiting students and pastors will also participate in modules there. We are so grateful to God who is filling up the building to capacity. Classrooms can accommodate up to 100 students. Our gratitude goes to volunteer professors (more than 100) who gladly donate a week per year to teach in Medellín as well as in the 23 other SRL sites in different countries. Soli Deo Gloria!

On the back of this letter, please see pictures and messages of some of the group of new students. We thank God for your privilege to participate in this training of ministers. Please adopt in prayer one or two of these students and cry out to God to use them to plant churches or serve in the gospel ministry after they leave SRL. If you send us specific names of students for whom you are praying, we will be happy to let them know so that those students can communicate to you through us. We do not give your e-mail or contact information to students. May we, you, and the students bring glory to God as His faithful servants.

SPECIAL INVITATION TO ATTEND THE 9th REFORMED CONVENTION IN MEDELLIN
THEME: THE PERSON AND MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – MAY 13 TO 16, 2020

This convention is presented by excellent expositors with simultaneous translation. The theme of the Holy Spirit is especially needed because many churches dishonor this biblical reformed doctrine. Experience the SRL mission in action! Meet and encourage hundreds of pastors from all Latin America who labor for church reformation in their countries. Medellin is safe, modern, vibrant, clean, inexpensive and beautifully nestled in the majestic Andes, and not far from Florida. Time will be provided to tour the city and its Swiss-like country side. Please make plans to attend. Visit the SRL web, or contact us at 267-258-9150 or 386-275-3560. We will be happy to assist you with arrangements.

Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Noé S. Acosta, President-Chancellor

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart… God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7 (NKJV)

Please accept these seminarians’ gratitude for their scholarships, and kindly pray for them. Their signatures authenticate their messages. In a future letter, we will send the rest of the group who began this year at SRL in Medellín. They are learning English, so kindly overlook their grammar.

Over 80 % of SRL graduates go into gospel ministry. We request your prayers for God to bless these men with such reformed ministries which will turn Latin America upside-down with the Gospel of The Lord Jesus. Here, before us, there is a blessing of tremendous magnitude and the opportunity to help. For His kingdom’s sake, we humbly ask for your prayers and monthly contributions. Your kingdom come. Matt. 6:10a (NKJV)
